UPDATE : AITAH for towing half the neighborhood?

I posted 2 days ago asking if IATAH for towing half the neighborhood. A lot happened in 2 days honestly it's a shitshow, I come here nearly every year since 20+ years and never saw this before.
NO PARKING ANY TIME SAUF
We have gotten people towed [for parking] in our reserved parking spots. again, we've [gotten] people towed for parking IN FRONT of the gate (so nobody could leave the parking [area] at all), we've got people putting signs on OUR reserved parking
spots with THEIR plate numbers so they don't get towed (the management guy called us asking if we added new licences plates to [make sure] not to tow our cars) I've never encounter[ed] this level of entitlement from random people before.
We [caught] one of the Airbnb tenants red- handed as he was parking in our assigned spot and he showed us an email from [his host and our] neighbor who straight up told him to put a sign [up] and park anyway. So as of today, we are closing the gate and [putting] 2 new warning signs telling people to GTFO our property.
No more friendly neighbors.
On the bright side, we were [at] the pool after lunch, and chatted with an UK family who got towed yesterday and they told us Airbnb was already processing a partial refund for the week and a 100% refund for the towing, so they were kinda happy with the outcome, I told them they can park in my second space as my wife will leave our second parking spot today.
We took a lot of pictures and got in touch with one of the neighbor's lawyers who bought the Space with us, because we got a lot of phone calls from Airbnb [guests] and police. and city officials about the issue today ([host neighbors] gave our info, I don't even know if that is legal).
Lots of new people came today to start their vacation, I hope they get the hint [from] the many signs we put up and don't come into our parking area.
Head_Razzmatazz7174 I remember your original post. You had given them plenty of warning. And these same dimwits not only did NOT learn their lesson, but doubled down on it? I'm glad you got the lawyers involved. The worst part is that these people have screwed themselves out of a few decent spots just because they think they don't have to follow any rules.
Mauve Mammoth Definitely email the property addresses to Airbnb stating they are offering amenities that don't belong to them. Sometimes, Airbnb shuts down a listing until it thinks issues have been resolved.
ryhartattack The fact that they're putting up false signs is insane. Rudeness and everything the aside, the fact that they think they would get away with this is insane to me
Red-Beerd Some people can be ridiculously entitled like this. My wife's family has a small cottage on the beach. Beside her cottage, there is a small public access laneway going to the water so people can service their existing wells. There are a couple rental properties nearby that specifically tell their customers that the beach behind our cottage is a public beach (it is not).
It would be annoying enough if people just used the beach, but they leave garbage, and will use our deck/beach chairs, even if we're there! The main bedroom has glass sliding doors that open on to the deck, so I've occasionally woken up to see people sitting on the deck chairs about 15 feet away from where I was sleeping looking into our cottage.
The owner of the rentals also has no sense of boundaries, and has on more than one occasion just walked into our cottage. When we ask what he's doing he's said that he didn't think anyone was home, and/or that he was just looking for his dog. Which, even if that's true, you can't just walk into someone else's house!
sabr1809 Can you get that email they showed you? At least you have that specific person incriminating themselves
archiangel I was one of the commenters that said you should close the parking area to just you and your neighbors that bought out the spaces. It's too hard to manage the courtesy parking spaces as now everyone feels entitled to all of your parking spaces. Sorry it came down to this but now you know who your sh!tty neighbors are.
Pikaus Put a gate/fence with a code. You and the other owners have codes, along with assigned spot. If other neighbors want to buy a spot, they get a code and spot. If they airbnb and give their renters the spot ok.
chuchofreeman That renters gave your information away is illegal according to GDPR rules as far as I know
